After passing some of the hardest Biology and Chemistry finals of my college career, I decided that I deserved a selfcare day. I started with treating myself to my favorite cheat meal: a two-piece from Popeyes and a medium fry from McDonald’s. And I ended my day with some much needed self care.
Despite the beautiful beach weather during the summer, California can get pretty cold and dry during the winter months and keeping my skin hydrated has become harder than ever.
I began my self care routine with washing and exfoliating my face using the Patchology FlashMasque® Hydrating Sheet Mask. What I really love is the fact that it hydrates my skin in only five minutes. Normally, sheet masks take at least 15 – 20 minutes to get the job done, so five minutes was something I could really appreciate. When I first put the mask on, there’s a cooling sensation which is the feeling of the serum entering my pores. The result is my skin feeling hydrated and really smooth to the touch. The mask includes Hyaluronic Acid (which is something I love and look for when it comes to skin care products), Vitamin B5 to soften and smooth skin as well as Betaine which helps the skin retain moisture.
Next, I used the FlashPatch® Rejuvenating Eye Gels. I’ve been a huge fan of these eye gels for months! They’re definitely apart of my finals week survival kit because of how great they are at reducing under eye baggage. A few key ingredients includes caffeine which helps reduce puffiness and portulaca oleracea extract which brightens the under eye.
I keep my eye gels in the fridge for an extra wakeup call when I put them on. Though they only need to be on your face for five minutes, I usually leave them on a little longer because I get caught up watching YouTube, having a snack, or in a conversation. Once the eye gels are off, there’s a bit of residue but with the use of a fluffy makeup brush, it comes right off!
With my usual routine including class, studying for exams and traveling for work, I understand how easy it can be to lapse on your skin care regime, especially during the winter. But I hope you’re encouraged to stay warm and stay hydrated, your skin will thank you!
